Today I had 1 experience that reminded me of many, many things that occurred. Let's start with the Gladiolas. They are the most beautiful flowers you have ever seen. If you don't know what they look like, look at the picture attached to this blog post and you will agree, they are amazing. A few weeks ago, I was driving down the road and saw some gladiolas in bloom on the median. This is very rare. In my whole life I don't think I have ever seen blooming gladiolas in a road median. It reminded me of my Grandmother. She had this phenomenal flower garden and every Memorial Day she would cut the flowers and make bouquet after bouquet and sell them to people to place on their loved one's graves for Memorial Day. The best flowers were the gladiolas. All of us kids helped her every year prepare all of the flowers. But only SHE could make the most unbelievable arrangements using the gladiolas. They were the best sellers. They brought in the most money. And they were all made lovingly by my Grandmother. So seeing these brought back this flood of memories that I brought to the attention of my sister and my son. Yesterday my son brought me this bouquet of gladiolas. What a loving gesture. So I wanted to share them and this story with you. Would love to hear any stories you have from your childhood that bring such pleasant and beautiful memories.
